Vol 4, Issue 2 IJELLS – July 2015

Dear Readers and Contributors,

Welcome to the July 2015 issue of IJELLS. Each issue, which is compiled, and released, leaves an immense sense of accomplishment on one hand (the amount of time and effort put into it) and a huge sense of relief (as this set of articles will be freely available for reference) on the other. We at IJELLS look forward to each issue as an opportunity for us, to be opened, to such a varied academic thought processes by our contributing scholars.

This issue brings to you the four sections prominently, Creative writing in English, English Literature, English Language Teaching & English and Communication Skills. We want to have many more sections. The contributing scholars can suggest what can be added to IJELLS to widen its horizons encompassing all realms of learning in the field of English.

The readers are informed beforehand, about the special issue on short stories which will come out in August 2015. The creative writers amongst us will have one issue specially dedicated to short story.

Dr. B. Anirudhan Principal, Nehru Arts and Science College is a Professor in Hindi. He has strong passion for Arts and literature. He believes expression in the form of arts is an excellent way for neutralizing negativity.

Dr. M. Vennila works as Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English in Seethalakshmi Achi College for Women, Pallathur- Sivagangai Dist, Tamil Nadu, India. She has passion for writing poetry and believes that writing is the best form of expression of thoughts.

T.M. Bhaskar works as a Lecturer in English at A.P.R.J. College Vijayapuri South, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh with 26 Years of teaching experience. He received best teacher award among all residential college teachers for outstanding achievement at state level.

Chandhini Chenthil Kannan is a 10+2 Student studying in PSBB Millennium School, Porur Branch.  She is a poetess and a Story writer.  She plays the key board and sings western and Indian music, well.

Dr. Daisy is an Associate Professor of English in BPSM Girls’ College, Khanpur Kalan, Haryana. She is a bilingual Poet and Writer (English and Hindi) and has much published work to her credit.

Dhanush Lakkaraju is a student pursuing his Junior College at Johnson Grammar CBSE, Nacharam, Hyderabad. He attended an International symposium at Gold coast, Australia. Along with his deep interest in science he also has a penchant for writing and hopes to become an author soon.

Dr. Kum Kum Ray is presently working as Director, Amity School of Languages, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus. She has a huge experience of more than 40 years in teaching and writing. Dr. Ray has published many books on English Literature, language and communication skills.

Padma Patwari has done her Masters in Literature from Osmania University and PGDTE from EFLU. Her interests include writing poetry, translations of literary works. Some of her poems have been published in various newspapers and online journals as well.

Rimni Chakravarty is an Assistant Professor in English, Siliguri Institute of Technology, post graduated in English Literature from the University of North Bengal. Darjeeling interested in art, literature, travelling and photography.

Ansulika Paul is a writer, orator, artist, research scholar and teacher. At present, she is working as a guest Lecturer in Govt. Polytechnic College, Dhamtari, (C.G.)

Dr. Anita Konwar is currently teaching English in Sonari College, Sivasagar, Assam. She has contributed research papers and articles in different academic and research journals at national and international level.

Bhola Nath Gupt is a senior research scholar at Malwiya Centre for Peace Research, (UNESCO Chair for Peace), Banaras Hindu University. He has contributed research papers and articles in different academic and research journals at national and international level.

P. Hiltrud Dave Eve has been an active practitioner in English Language Teaching for more than 11 years and has interacted with more than 4,000 adult learners of English in the Indian higher education. At present she is working in Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur in South India.

G. Janet is an assistant professor at rajalakshmi engineering college, thandalam, chennai. she has six years of experience in teaching and her area of interest is women psyche in 21st century.

Dr. Jayshree Singh, is the Lecturer., HOD, English, Bhupal Nobles Post-Graduate Girls’ College (Affiliated to MLSU) Udaipur (Rajasthan), India.  She has attended many regional, national and international conferences in India and 08 abroad and presented papers in the Literary Associations of the World. Publications consists of four books and more than 50 papers.

Dr. K. Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor, is working at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College, Perambalur. He has published many papers in Language and Literature. He is doing the project in ELT among the schedule tribes area in Tamilnadu.

Dr. K. Rajamanickam is a Professor at the Department of English, SASTRA University, Thanjavur.  He has completed his Ph.D in Indian Writing English and guiding the students from various universities in and around Tamilnadu. He focused on ELT and Literature.

Dr. Kiran Kumar Golla, is a doctorate from EFLU, Hyderabad and is working as an Assistant Professor (C) in the Dept. of English at Nizam College, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He studied in University of Technology, Dresden, Germany for six months and submitted a thesis on Song Cultures in India.

Dr. B. Lakshmi is an Associate Professor of English at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Thandalam, Chennai. She has ten years of teaching experience at reputed engineering colleges in Chennai. She has published three research articles in International National Journals and also presented 10 papers at National and International Conferences.

K. Loganathan is working as an assistant professor of English at Hindustan University and pursuing Doctoral research at SRM University. He has attended many workshops and conferences and also published many research papers in national and international journals.

Dr. K. Anbazhagan is working as a Professor and Head of the Dept. of English and Foreign Languages at SRM University. He has attended many workshops and conferences and also published many research papers in national and international journals. He has also chaired many sessions in conferences and workshops. He has been guiding many M.Phil and PhD scholars.

Dr. Meena Malik is an Associate Professor in English at NDRI Deemed University. She teaches “Communication Skills” and ‘Technical Writing’ to UG and PG students. She has authored a book entitled, Graham Greene: A Feminist Reading and a Manual on The Art of Technical Reporting and Writing. Her area of specialization is ‘Gender Issues’.

Mousumi Guha Banerjee is currently Head of the Department of Classical and Modern Languages at the Central University of Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, Varanasi. Her research area and interests include Victorian Women’s Poetry, Literary Theory and Criticism, Business Communication, Cross-cultural Communication and Film Studies.

 Dr. Neeti Mahajan is Associate Professor in Banasthali University since 2012 and has teaching experience of fourteen years in the same University. She is particularly interested in Gender Studies which also is the area of her research and is an expert at teaching Communicative English.

Olatundun, J. Oladepo teaches English in the Department of Languages and Linguistics of Osun State University Nigeria. His research interests are in Discourse Analysis and Pragmatics.

Dr. Padam Kumar Jain is a Professor and Head Dept. of English, Govt autonomous P.G. College, Satna. He has published 04 books and guided 5 PhD scholars into awarding the title with another 07 under his guidance.

Priyanka Aggarwal is a research Scholar of Mewar University, Rajasthan.

Dr. Punam Pandey is Assistant Professor and also in-charge of the Department of Modern and Other European languages, JR Handicapped University, Chitrakoot, U. P. She grabbed the minor research project on Shobhaa De approved, has authored three books.

F. Samson is serving as an Asst. Prof. and Dept. Head in Udaya College of Arts & Science, Ammandivilai. He is a Ph.D. scholar, doing research on the works of Indian writer, Githa Hariharan.

Sanchayita Paul Chakraborty is now the Doctoral Research Scholar in the University of North Bengal. She is doing her PhD on Bengali Women’s Writing in the Late 19th and Early 20th Century.

Dr. Mirza Sibtain Beg is Assistant Professor in English. He is a prolific writer, critic widely published.

Dr. Shuchi Agrawal, has authored many books prescribed in the curriculum of many universities in India.Besides, she has also authored three reference books. Presently, she is working with Amity University. Her specialized fields are Post-colonialism, Feminism, Gender Studies, Literary Criticism, Literary Theory, American Literature, Modern Poetry, Contemporary Indian Theatre Studies, etc.

Sunita Bhoi works as a Jr. Lecturer in English in Panchayat College, Bargarh. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D in Sambalpur University. She also shows her interest in writing Short stories and poetry.

Avinash Tambarsi is an Associate Professor, Department of English at Sahyadri Arts College Shimoga, Karnataka. His areas of specialization are Literary Theory, Cultural Studies, Translation Studies. He published more than 50 articles in Journals.

K. Chandrasekhar has been working as Asst. Prof. of English since 2007. His areas of interest are ELT and Soft skills. He published 9 papers.

Jimalee Sowell has taught English in South Korea, Cambodia, Uganda, Ecuador, and Bangladesh. Ms. Sowell is now working as a teacher trainer for the Malaysian Ministry of Education.

Ahmed Bhuiyan majored in English Literature and TESOL for his first degree and did a master’s at King’s College, London in English Literature. He has taught in the Middle East and Bangladesh.

Madhu Rapala is an Assoc. Professor of English in CMR college of Engg .&Tech., Hyderabad with more than a decade of teaching experience. He addressed the diverse section of people in many seminars and enlightened them about nuances and subtleties of English language. He is now placement trainer for various job aspirants.

Naresh Annem is an academic, researcher and a translator. Currently, he teaches English at University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore. Many of his translations are published in various national and international journals. His areas of interest include ELT, Translation, Indian Writings in English and Postcolonial literatures.

S. Nirmala is a PhD   Research Scholar at Bharathiar University.

Dr. T. Ravindran is a Professor, Dept of English, Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering.

S. Parvathavarthini, is an Assistant Professor, Department of English, GCE, Bodinyakkanur. She has presented papers in various International and National Conferences on English Language Teaching. Her current area of research is Metacognition and Second Language Learning.

Dr. Purna Bahadur Kadel is a renowned faculty at the central department of education, University Campus, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. He has presented a number of papers at home and abroad. He is an executive central member of Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association (NELTA).

Mohammed Shafeer K P has presented papers in many national and international seminars. Now, he is working as an Assistant Professor in English in KMCT Group of Institutions, Kuttippuram Kerala.

K. Sony Glory is working as an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of Science & Humanities in SCIENT Engineering College, Ibrahim Patnam, Hyderabad, Telangana State. I have 12 years of teaching experience.

Dr. Sushil Kumar teaches Communication Skills in English at Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panipat, Haryana. ELT, Personality Development and Phonetics of English Language are his fortes.

Vijaylaxmi S Prashene is a lecturer in Shri Havagiswami College, Udgir.  She is doing research in ‘The Use of ICT in ELT at College Level’. Her area of interest is ELT and communication skills.

Dr. Umesh Prasad Pattanaik a thirty eight years ELT practitioner both in India and abroad, is currently working as Professor of English at C.V.Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar. He taught English as a Second/Foreign Languages at ELTI, Bhubaneswar, Hadhramout University, Mukalla, Yemen and University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Gumudelly Swamy is a Lecturer in English at Sri Chaithyna College, Toopran.
